Who is Blue Ocean Consulting?
Blue Ocean Consulting is about taking new approaches to creating a better way to do business.
The name is inspired by the book “Blue Ocean Strategy” by W. Chan Kim and Renee Mauborge and published by the Harvard School Press. The authors discuss a blue ocean strategy as creating uncontested market space instead of competing in what already exists, of making competition irrelevant, and creating new demand.
For new business this should be automatic. For existing businesses what does this mean? It means taking new approaches to current business practices. These can include:
- converting from a desktop application to a Web-based one to allow for easier access to company information while on the road;
- allow clients access to information 24/7 via an extranet rather than relying on phone or e-mail during business hours;
- and allowing clients to access order information online.
To apply these approaches Blue Ocean works collaboratively with our clients throughout the entire project lifecycle.
